I started paying into Social Security when I was 10, have worked steadily since I was 15, and retired at 75 with reasonable savings and SS. I, like so many others, payed into and earned this modest retirement. Send Musk to Mars and Trump to jail.

Where is the organized anger in the Democratic Party against Schumer and the 8? Come on, show us your capacity to govern!

Is this about having the Epstein files?
I am kind of sitting here mouth agape as I realize that the thing that really got eight Democrats to cave was a provision which provides backdoor criminal and civil immunity to them personally by making it functionally impossible to ever investigate the Senate
read the actual bill text and this is quite literally a provision designed solely to impede civil and criminal investigations into United States Senators and their staff. www.appropriations.senate.gov/imo/media/do...

No Kings. Last Week's election. All that energy, organization, will, and and success. All those people know that you, Senator Schumer, are not up to the job that needs to be done now. It is time to pass the torch to a new kind of fighter.
Hey, @schumer.senate.gov!

Americans gave you a clear assignment last Tuesday, and you didn’t understand it.

Now, we are giving you another one: Step down and allow a Democrat with a spine to unite your caucus for the good of all Americans.

Remember what you told Biden? Now, tell it to yourself.

I was never taught about events like this in history class as a kid. It is important to get a rich and full understanding of our stories as a country. Even the terrible ones. Especially the terrible ones. How else do we learn to do better?

Today in history, 1898: After voters elect a biracial city council in Wilmington, N.C., a mob of white supremacists overthrows the local government in a coup d’état. The mob also killed as many as 300 black residents in what is known as the Wilmington Massacre. /1

Maybe it’s wishful thinking, but I seriously think that trump is dying, and knows it. That’s why he’s just doing whatever he wants, and speeding up his agendas. And saying Fuck you to us and every rule and law ever written. Changing history to make himself look good, and enemies stained by lawsuits.

Still processing the inanity of this cave, like, "We're going to make Republicans go on record that they want to destroy the ACA." You mean the motherfuckers who radicalized in opposition to it & voted to repeal it, like, 22 times? You're finally getting them on record? Really impressed over here

The richest country in the world cannot provide healthcare in spite of the fact that its citizens pay more for healthcare than any country in the world. What is wrong with this picture? Well, we really do need to support our needy millionaires and billionaires who apparently can never get enough.

Damn the Democrats. It passed.
The Senate has voted 60-40 to fund the federal government and end the shutdown with no health care subsidies. The bill now goes to the House, which has been out of session since September.

So if the #Democrats are being up front about their reasoning (they're not), they should vote down the CR because the #Republicans are obviously not keeping up their end of the deal.

But we all know that's not going to happen.

Because the government funding package still does not address this crisis, I will vote no.

Chris Murphy for Senate Minority leader.
I got back to my office after the vote last night and recorded this. There's no way to sugarcoat what happened. And my fear is that Trump gets stronger, not weaker, because of this acquiescence. I'm angry - like you. But I choose to keep fighting.
