t's raining galls! Galls of the mealy gall wasp are falling out of the southern live oaks all over Houston. As you can see, a lot of them are damaged, as though something tried to eat the larva in the center chamber.

Apparently RFK is going to announce that leucovorin can be a treatment for autism. It’s used as rescue drug for osteosarcoma treatment , and this action will likely push it into shortage.😠

Does anybody have, or know where to find high quality photos of crown gall in cross section? I need one for an invited review. Will be credited, of course. Thanks!🌿🌾🧪

Democrats should let the budget expire and the government close down. Given what's been done to our government, nobody will notice.

Thought so.
🧪 The rise in autism prevalence is largely an "epidemic of diagnoses," not of the condition itself. Researchers attribute the increase to broader diagnostic criteria and greater awareness, noting genetics is the primary driver, not a single toxin.
Autism is on the rise: what’s really behind the increase?
RFK Jr has vowed to find out what’s responsible, but scientists say he is ignoring answers from decades of research.

Passiflora is cyanogenic, but the Feigl-Anger test detects only those with both cyanogenic glycoside + enzyme. Passiflora suberosa (R) has both (so the test paper turns blue). Passiflora incarnata (L) has the glycoside but lacks the enzyme (paper stays white). ☠️ #HCN #Botany 🌾🧪🌱
