Dachte ich illustriere mal wie das aussieht wenn Autor:innen ihre Bücher pushen, wobei ich hierzu eine Hilfskraft anheuern musste weil meine beiden letzten Bücher recht klein sind und das etwas albern aussehen würde wenn ich die selbst pushte

In a way, I'd even say that it's the same goal. When I watched Riefenstahl's "Triumph of the Will" a while ago the one thing that struck me was how utterly narcissistic all of this was, Hitler gleefully basking in the attention of thousands of pick-mes vying for *his* attention
I know people think Musk only bought Twitter to help the rise of fascism.
While that’s important, I still think it’s secondary to his primary goal, which was to own the place where his fans praise him.
With AI, Musk’s use of the platform for love and validation is only getting more transparent.

Maybe Nvidia could rename their GeForce cards series to "Hollerith", as a reference to the punched cards that IBM supplied to the NS regime for the German national census (i.e. genocide preparation)

Was mir an der "Leute, die in Academia bleiben sind halt selbst schuld"-Diskussion grad nicht so gefällt ist dass dabei ignoriert wird, wie eine wissenschaftliche Laufbahn für viele Leute eben auch ein aus vielen Gründen wichtiger Anspruch ist, z.B. Erstakademiker*innen oder in my case immigrants

Ohne hier weiter arg rumjammern zu wollen, IMO hängt auch die ganze Legitimationskrise der (Geistes-)Wissenschaften daran, dass Forschung systemisch nicht als Zweck verstanden wird, sondern nur als Mittel, um die (stets prekäre) Finanzierung der eigenen Arbeit begründen zu müssen
Ich hab mich mittlerweile mit mir selbst drauf geeinigt dass die Habil einfach ein gutes fachwissenschaftliches Buch werden soll weil das in sich nen Wert hat, trotzdem schade dass das so oder so nix damit zu tun hat wie ich nächstes Jahr meine Miete bezahle

Throwback, als beim letzten Berufungstraining der Beruf d Professor:in (unnötig) beworben wurde: "Auf 1 Professur ist noch niemand verhungert, die Pension ist auch fürstlich." Was aus dem *Großteil* wird, der nicht im Prof-Lotto gewinnt, wurde nicht gesprochen. #IchBinHanna #IchBinReygan #PDprekär
