If you’re waiting for there to be more bikers in order to build bike lanes, you’ve got it backwards
Protected bike lanes have a near-magical ability to produce cyclists.

This new study of 28 US cities finds that census block groups w/protected bike lanes expanded bike commuting almost 2x faster than those w/standard bike lanes & >4x faster than those w/o new lanes.

The Backline have begun 10 minutes of silence, and it's eerily quiet in here.

Banners up in the supporters section, including one that says "We are not all here".

Research (from Nashville!) shows that teachers with shorter commutes stay in their positions longer and perform better.

Housing policy is education policy.
Teachers with long commutes are more likely to leave their jobs
Researchers find that longer teacher commute times result in higher turnover and impact other teacher outcomes.

I'm warm and in a house. Open Table Nashville seeks to help fellow Nashvillians who aren't. We'll vouch for this org. Giving feels good. And it's going to be extremely cold this week.

Jackson Ferrell is a law student. He's wearing a sport coat. He's asking that the council continue to fund the eviction right to counsel program, now that the ARP funding for that program is exhausted. He encourages the council to visit General Sessions Court, which he calls "an eviction mill."

FWIW Nashville folks I just called Rep. John Rose’s D.C. office to express my fears as a former congressional staffer (w Rep. Cooper) that all my private data is almost certainly being accessed by a private citizen. Woman who answered says she - and a lot of people - share my concerns. CALL.
