If someone asked me to describe late stage capitalism I would just send them this.

I love Kawhi Leonard so much

I also do not think “create a department, that will solve it” has proven correct over the last decade

Here's what DHS doesn't want you to know: Working for ICE is one of the safest jobs in America — and last year was the second-safest year for the agency on record.

And the doxxing? It hasn't actually happened even once.

The masks are justified by a lie. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/ice-s-mask...
ICE's Masks Are All a Lie
Working for ICE is actually less dangerous than being an elementary school student in America.

My first year in Metro I was in some cohort program. Mayor Dean was the speaker and I asked the first question which was do you think we should deconsolidate. I was not prepared for the ire. That truly was on me. I’m getting red again just recalling it.

I can’t do the whole “submit every broken water fountain to hub” thing again when they just never fix the broken ones. Begging literally any CM to ask parks for an audit of water fountains. This is such a basic public amenity. Everyone knows the current situation is trash and nothing is done.

We’re going to hell for this.
Super Bowl viewers Sunday speculated that 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos appeared in the halftime show. In fact, he has been in hiding with his family.

“He can’t sleep well at night. He wakes up three or four times a night screaming, ‘Daddy, Daddy,’” Liam's father Adrian Conejo Arias, said.
‘He’s not the same’: Father of Liam Conejo Ramos says 5-year-old continues to suffer
Some people thought they say the 5-year-old during the Super Bowl halftime show. But Liam is still in hiding with his family, after he and his father were detained and then released from a Texas deten...

I continue to ask why NDOT does not have a single entity that provides oversight. This “disperse accountability across 3 boards” thing isn’t working

So much effort to do the wrong stuff
February 10, 2026 at 4:23 AM
Why’s metro legal doing this? They’re intended to be in an advisory role for the members of the boards and commissions, no?

It’s a dry night

Government moving at the speed of the need. God bless it

This is outstanding work. It’s hard to move this kind of money out of a budget cycle. Big gratitude to @freddieoconnell.bsky.social for directing folks to shake the couch cushions. It’s a huge statement about whose needs are valued and who matters.
Great to see Metro step up with a $750k donation of unspent ARPA funds for eviction prevention to Metro Action Commission.

I have wrap around heating pad on my couch. It’s a permanent fixture. Live your dreams, brother

I don’t understand how this is a hard choice.

About monthly I get pitched a “solution” for affordable housing, the nature of which makes it starkly apparent what a precarious stage of capitalism we’re in.

You and me both, brother. You and me both.

It is not at all surprising to me that AI hype is overwhelmingly driven by socially challenged men.
February 5, 2026 at 12:16 AM
This is one of the many reasons why AI is uninteresting to me. The complexities of life are not driven by lack of data or analysis. The differentiating factors in life are all distinctly human.

It’s crazy that success/impact largely comes down to whether someone does or does not have the dog in them and there is zero way to quantify that.

In my opinion these people are the real heroes of the resistance to ICE. There’s no credit, no one can talk about their work (because they directly contact vulnerable families). It’s expensive and dreary and neverending. ICE follows them around. But they refuse to abandon their neighbors
This is what one afternoon drop looks like for one (1) Minneapolis mutual aid distributor (read: random mom who wants to help families at her kids’ schools)

Like, I need to go to sleep but I’m just thinking, what if trade news happens? Should I stay up til Thursday? Maybe?

Kudos to schools for doing a little survey action and then actually making a change. Pretty swift stuff. I know it wasn’t what some wanted but progress now is better than analysis paralysis
