The best way to regulate big tech is to just make bad practices illegal. It's not that complicated. So, let's just make it illegal to sell phone location data. Sign here:

You can't... repeal... a scientific finding. At that point it's just called lying about it.
Breaking News: The Trump administration repealed the bedrock scientific finding that greenhouse gases threaten human life and well being, meaning that the EPA can no longer regulate them. nyti.ms/4rSszQu

I'm still SHOCKED by the obscene rise in billionaire election spending since Citizens United in the NYT piece, despite already knowing that election corruption w/ $ was profound. (Recall that BCRA fought dangerous campaign $ in *2002*)

The article data didn't have a graph, so I made one to show it.

There’s gotta be a German word for the cursed experience of reading the Fulton County affidavit after reporting on the 2020 election in extreme detail. Even redacted, every niche witness jumps out—many conspiracy theorists with no real expertise. The US government treating them as credible is nuts.
BREAKING: The supporting affidavit for the warrant to search Fulton County election records has been unsealed.

You know what they’re going to store in those warehouses?

People
In the last month ICE has bought warehouses in:

- Hagerstown, MD: $102 million
- Surprise, AZ: $70 million
- Hamburg, PA: $87 million
- Tremont, PA: $120 million
- San Antonio, TX: $82 million
- El Paso, TX: $123 million
- Social Circle, GA: price unknown

This is unprecedented.

1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.

Hundreds of kids are still detained.

We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵

It’s just racism. There’s no immigration problem
The US immigrant population generated more in taxes than they received in benefits from all levels of government every year from 1994 to 2023.

The Cato study provides the first-ever 30-year analysis of the fiscal effects of immigration on government budgets.

The US "immigration policies" that you are seeing unfold in Minneapolis, are the brainchild of far-right friends who met at Duke University.

One was Stephen Miller. The other is the person in the above video.

You can know what is going to happen next, by reading their old ethnic cleansing plans.🤷🏿‍♂️
There's nothing that has happened so far in this admin, that I didn't warn about in excruciating detail in the 1st admin.🤷🏿‍♂️

The last post is from when we narrowly avoided this in 2020... only for centrist dems to screw it up again via racism, and put us right back here for 2024.🤡

They don't learn.

A newborn in Minneapolis hadn’t eaten for a day and a half.

ICE agents took her mother when she went to work, trying to make money for diapers.

Her 16-year-old and Bri, a local mother of two, saved that baby's life. @chabeli.bsky.social tells their story
When one mother was taken by ICE, another stepped in to donate breastmilk
Moms in Minneapolis are donating diapers, food and time to help families who have been ripped apart by ICE.

I genuinely have no idea how to convey this to the American people, but I think the biggest impediment to any kind of immigration reform is that people are convinced that "legal" and "illegal" are immutable, intrinsic categories instead of a rapidly-shifting arbitrary constellation of regulations.

This isn't timely, but here's more info on ICE, police, and Ring doorbells. Quick answer: You can use E2EE on Ring. Or get one of these other doorbell cameras that give you complete control. (Ring's not all that high-scoring in our testing.)

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.
