For me, ‘porn’ seems almost derogatory for most writing, unless it’s bad fanfic sex. No plot, just banging.
Erotica is sex and plot. Yes, there’s sex, but the story is there too.
Smut is a middle ground, playful and a bit silly, but not saying “hey, this is just filth to get off to.”

Okay, the airbrush is amazing. This would have taken forever by hand, and looked way worse. 15 minutes and the base coat is on. It’ll take some practice to do details, but wow!

Last day off for the holidays before going back to work. Part of my brain says “ohh, good time to do a bit of writing, right?”. But a louder part says “No, video games.” Welp. 😂

I swap between terms just because of my pathological need to avoid repeating myself! I tend not to use clinical terms (penis/vagina) in most cases, as they just seem ‘unsexy’. It feels fun to use more flowery prose in sex scenes, at least in my humble opinion.

Because of my tendency to write my romances as extremely "wholesome", the communication is a huge part of that! No matter what sort of problems there are external to the relationships, the relationship itself is extremely strong. And of course that takes good communication!

I tend to write my characters as personality first, smut second. The kinks generally come up organically, for what I think make sense with the character as its written. Once I have a feel for their personality, the kinks just seem to fall into place for me!

I tend to write my characters as personality first, smut second. The kinks generally come up organically, for what I think make sense with the character as its written. Once I have a feel for their personality, the kinks just seem to fall into place for me!

Putting the finishing touches on the latest novel today! Just need to do the million little things to get it done. Give it a title, make the cover, editing pass, all that fun stuff. Still, it’s always exciting to get to this point!
