I've said it before, and I'll say it again: The Oxford comma is wildly overrated and cultishly adored.

I explain why in my new book, out on March 4, 2026.

MAGA: I couldn't understand a word Bad Bunny said.

Also MAGA: I especially loved it when he went, "Bawitdaba, da bang, da dang diggy diggy
Diggy, said the boogie, said up jump the boogie."

I do the same, but the goofy idiot just stares back at me lovingly, tail wagging. Meanwhile, the cats don't even seem to recognize my existence.
With some regularity, I find myself patiently explaining to our dog why I like our cat more, but so far it hasn’t led to any change in behavior. I’m starting to lose hope.

Trump has never set foot outside the White House. The surrounding area is one of the cleanest, safest metropolitan areas I have ever visited.
Wondering if people who don't live in DC get how utterly, hilariously delusional this is.
Trump says he's made it possible for people to "walk to the White House instead of getting into an Uber and getting mugged even as the Uber progresses"

New rule: If your knee-jerk reaction to today's events is "he shouldn't have had a gun," you don't get to fly the Gadsden flag ever again. #abolishICE

Abolish ICE
A man was choked so hard that his blood vessels burst in his eyelids and his death was ruled a homicide.

This is a rogue agency. It needs to be torn down and replaced with a new federal agency that respects human and constitutional rights and has civil rights oversight.

Abolish ICE.

No making ICE "friendlier."

No shifting staff and assets to another agency.

No "ICE is bad, but ..." equivocations.

A-friggin'-bolish.
Recent tragic events further strengthen the case for abolishing ICE. See my proposal for how to do it:

Well, the line between the cops and military has been blurry for quite a while.
Rubio is in all other contexts a vapid moron, but it’s very funny that he has the ability to look an interviewer in the eye and explain that a Delta Force op to depose a foreign head of state and install a puppet in his place isn’t “military,” but simply good old-fashioned police work

The crazy thing about this whole Venezuela story is that Trump is still in the Epstein files.

The D0J inspired me to get my taxes done early this year.

Bingo
I don't know who Trump will nominate to the Fed, but if they listen to him and lower interest rates the way he wants, then he's going to explode inflation heading into the midterms, while tariffs also stagnate the economy. 2026 is going to suck.

Almost a good take by Reich. He had me until he started clutching his pearls about private prisons.
73% of ICE detainees have no criminal convictions, according to govt data.

Don’t fall for Trump’s lies about targeting the “worst of the worst.”

As ICE terrorizes cities to fill up detention centers, remember that some of Trump's major donors are private prison corporations.

Worst. Style. Guide. Ever.
I am fully on team s’ (thought some people were just doing it wrong), two spaces after the end of sentences, and the Oxford comma! See what I did there? 🙂

It seems more absurd because it's cosplaying the authoritarian trope without the context that makes it work. They don't actually have the power to make everyone pretend we believe it. Everyone can still point it out, which kind of defeats the power move of it and just makes them seem ridiculous.
What's striking about Trump's lies, and those of his apologists, is that they're not even plausible. They don't try to be plausible. As others have noted, that's kind of the point. True authoritarian control and power is telling a blatant and obvious lie, and showing you can get away with it.
Q: Can you explain what's going on with the bandages on Trump's hand?

LEAVITT: We've given you an explanation. The president is literally constantly shaking hands.

My latest for @reason.com. I dive into the dark etymology of "remigration."

The history of this word reflects the rise of anti-immigrant politics
"Remigration" is meant to soften the real policy goal—forced removal.
