Not to belittle black folks experience and “the talk, but I’m reckoning with how we need to have the talk with our kids (one of whom presents as Samoan looking). We’re all US citizens but, ironically, my wife being black actually protects her. It’s my little Samoan/Brazilian who is at risk.
I know we aren’t all fans of the police here but the difference between this and an ordinary police arrest or detainment is night and day. There’s no “You’re under arrest” and then sitting in the car while they ask questions. You are simply disappeared in seconds. No record of what happened.

I once had dinner with the then-crown prince of Denmark (now the king) where I learned he did part of his military requirements in Greenland with sledding dogs and they’d patrol the entire coast! (I was dating an Australian diplomat and the crown-princess was Australian, hence the State Dinner.)
Just in: The Danish Armed Forces have reinforced their military presence in Greenland starting today, in coordination with allies. The Government of Greenland says the move aims to bolster Arctic alliances and enhance European and transatlantic security.

And this is the point National Dems need to realize about Goldman’s primary. My biggest complaint; among many, is his disloyalty to other Dems when he in particular, does not have political pressure to do so. He reps a very blue district and he tells the world fellow Dems Tlaib and Zohran hate Jews.
i understand the people who object to demands that democrats adopt left-wing positions. i do not understand people who object to picking off democrats for disloyalty to the party.
