Schumer's shutdown performance sparks unrest in his ranks
The Democratic leader confronts the most serious cracks in the unity he's tried to foster since he took the reins of his conference last year.

Check out a new report from me, Bo MacInnis, and Jon Krosnick on Americans' attitudes toward issues of environmental justice (with RFF). As always, partisanship matters (A LOT), but we still reveal an American electorate that is largely supportive of addressing environmental inequality.

I don't see how Biden wins in 2028 after this.

Bluesky academics, lets get to know each other! Quote this & tell me: 1) a project you are working on & 2) an odd idea/theory you aren’t working on but keep thinking about

1) How do mythic frames shape preferences about spending on foreign aid?
2) How much agency do parties have over realignment?

Check out my latest in The Conversation on burnout among American voters in the wake of Super Tuesday
After Super Tuesday, exhausted Americans face 8 more months of presidential campaigning
It’s not just polarization that’s driving voters’ malaise − it’s something else, which carries a stark warning for the health of American democracy.

It’s not just the ADL embracing an antisemite like Musk so he’ll censor Palestinians and their allies. Look at how timidly the NYT describes Musk’s public and explicit endorsement of unambiguous antisemitism.

New from Bo MacInnis, Jon Krosnick, and me. We leverage a probability sample of Americans to model resistance to purchasing electric vehicles. Some results won't shock (financial/moral concerns matter), but some will (prior experience doesn't matter much).

How “blatantly biased” are each candidate’s supporters?

I asked people whether there was ANY policy or behavior that their preferred 2024 candidate could take that would result in the candidate losing their vote (“no”=blatant bias). Some prelim data (only ~100 Trump voters) but suggestive…
