Outraged by the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, a wilderness survival trainer spent years undercover climbing the ranks of right-wing militias.
He didn’t tell police or the FBI. He didn’t tell family or friends. The one person he told was ProPublica reporter @josh-kaplan.bsky.social.

Assume all the yes and no votes from Dem senators are strategic and not sincere votes. The party caucus made a decision. No way to know how many were in favor. Then the caucus decided who would vote yes and no based on what would protect each of them politically the most. That’s how this works.

I don’t think there is another human being, except himself, who Trump thinks about more than Obama. Neither his wife, nor his kids, nor his “friends” can even come close to the amount of rent-free space Obama occupies in Trump’s brain.

Excellent thread. Definitely worth a read (along with the piece she links).
The Supreme Court just heard oral arguments in the challenge to Trump’s worldwide tariffs. No matter how the Court rules (and I’ll do just a tiny bit of tea leaf-reading here), its decision will have enormous implications for the scope of presidential power. 1/25

Last night, I dreamed that I was explaining the movie, The Two Popes, to Mel Gibson. I’m not sure where that falls in the sequence of events in the Book of Revelation, but it can’t be good.

Magda Goebbels’ first marriage was to Günther Quandt, himself a committed Nazi. But she left him in 1929, and shortly after began a relationship with Goebbels that led to their marriage in 1931. Most people think it was the ideology, not Goebbels’ “charm,” that drew her in.

Tucker Carlson interviewed white nationalist podcaster Nick Fuentes on Monday, sitting politely as Fuentes criticized the power of “organized Jewry in America.”
