If SHRINK is so great, why don’t we do it?
A lot of it is IP / legal hell.
It *sorta* happened with Intel’s X86S proposal, but even that died after industry pushback in late 2024.
Plus, a lot of the cool kids moved on to other ISAs (ARM, RISC-V).
