The general sense of the news reports from the United States is that the federal government has realised it has gone too far too soon in being filmed freely killing civilians in the streets.

Public opinion is just not ready for that yet.

1/ In 2022, one year after Trump incited the seditious attack on the US Capitol, I posted a long thread of images on Twitter, because revisionist attempts to create a false narrative about that day were already well underway.

Today, in 2025, I’m re-creating/re-posting that same thread here.👇

Proof is overrated.

This is a brilliant talk by Rory Sutherland: [youtu.be/lhlS-Wds02M...] where he makes two essential points. First, it's a huge problem when "rational" people get veto power over creative, innovative, "irrational" people.

Another arbitrary stop order for offshore wind farms in the US: www.reuters.com/business/ene..., including wind farms that have been under construction for years.

How can anyone want to invest in the US when they are subject to arbitrary and lawless decisions by an autocrat like this?
Equinor says it is complying with stop work order for US offshore wind project
Norwegian energy group Equinor said on Monday it was complying with a stop work order issued by the U.S. for its Empire Wind 1 offshore wind project and engaging with authorities.

I saw the Stone Roses in Oslo in 1990. Mani was hanging out in the bar after the gig, we said hi and he signed my t-shirt. Really friendly guy, made a big impression on me. www.bbc.com/news/live/cv...

To report 2.7% inflation for November, the Trump Admin excluded data on food, housing, electricity, clothing, medical care, and most other categories.

In fact, only 3 of more than 20 price categories were included in the calculations, making the report meaningless.

Actual inflation is much higher.
