This one is about tricking users more than AI, but expect to see more attacks on older tools as AI and online features are added to them. Especially because often the LLMs handles both the instructions and data together, which allows malicious content to poison the workflow.
The AI features added to Notepad created a critical exploit vulnerable to loading a compromised txt file.

The fix is part of Patch Tuesday, so update your systems.

AI is not a feature I ever desired in Notepad. I should look into some alternatives...
AI-upgraded Notepad now exposes Windows users to critical exploit
A critical remote code execution vulnerability found in the AI-upgraded Windows 11 Notepad has fueled renewed criticism of Microsoft's forced AI feature creep.

"People can have different political opinions about immigration policy. Political differences are fine, healthy for a democracy.

But if you’re okay with this, that’s not a political opinion. That is a moral failing."
I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it.

I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.”

Faced with cultural rebellion, all MAGA has left is to saber rattle at people who criticize Trump on the world stage. That was unbecoming, but not a sure loser, when Trump was at 50-50. Now that he's closer to 40-60, they're making themselves laughing stocks. www.offmessage.net/p/trump-has-...

On the superiority of water as the primary decontaminant for tear gas and peppery spray on skin and eyes.

To make it clear to people, this is a thread. Some of you are not clear on the concept. I will reply this with another post and mark it with a number in (x). And so forth. (1)

A #defence tidbit.

After #Finland joined #NATO, we've noted that many foreign #military professionals have problems understanding our reserve-based (or cadre) system.

They tend to believe "conscripts" are poorly trained and unmotivated.

Then they learn they've been working with reservists. 1/

A staple of authoritarian states: using their executive power to arbitrarily revoke privileges & selectively punish political opponents, in this case for peaceful and lawful behaviour. The courts are failing under this broad assault on the rule of law.
A Minnesota woman observing ICE agents in her car was cornered on one-way streets. An agent approached, called her by name—citing facial recognition. Days later, her Global Entry and TSA privileges were revoked, with no explanation.

This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
