This came to me when I was talking to a friend about why they shouldn’t be moving to Germany

I think the most straightforward framing that captures the severity of the situation is that the government of the United States has been seized by a mad authoritarian regime not meaningfully distinct from Putin or Kim or, well, Maduro, and its members must be brought to harsh justice

Whenever I’m wearing a mask & I see someone look at me and then put on a mask that they were hiding in their pocket, it makes me feel great.
It’s so much easier to blame the individual vs the system that creates this scenario, but it sucks that so many people just don’t want to get looked at weirdly

Too often when people see my mask they recoil, snicker or ask if I’m sick.
They almost never offer to put one on themselves (and this unfortunately includes healthcare workers).
