In 2025 I'm going to use the 'shake' feature of the CLZ app to pull a random comic out of my print collection and share one comic every day for the entire year (or whenever I remember, and catch up).
I have some odd stuff in here, it'll be interesting what it spits out.

In a bunch of indie superhero Facebook groups (admittedly I don’t know why I stay in them) and a good 95% of what I see are guys with “comics group” in their account name who have never once put pen to paper to make a comic- just generating dogshit character promos- intent on skipping the work

If you miss the old search engines and hate this A.I. bullshit as much as I do--add -ai to every Google search and it won't give you shitty, inaccurate, useless A.I. results.

It's really hard to not constantly think of how fucked we all are.

Especially when people I love and myself are under the constant threat of losing the benefits we need to stay alive and healthy.

In the pre ACA days, roughly 2/3s of Americans would be permanently disqualified from purchasing insurance because they've had a systemic vascular condition with unknowable lifelong complications.

COVID.

It wouldn't be a case of money. You simply would not be insurable.
For anyone too young to remember what it was like before ACA…

IT WAS A FUCKING NIGHTMARE.
One of the most important provisions of the ACA was eliminating pre-existing conditions exclusions from insurance plans.

Folks need to be reminded that if the ACA goes away, so does that provision.

When did the House pass a funding bill?
Senate is voting NOW on the deal to reopen the government. This is a procedural motion, not final passage, using the House-passed funding bill as the vehicle. Needs 60 to advance.

I sure would like all this to be true. But its easy to be cynical.
Folks, we need to have a little Civics #101 chat, because apparently the media no longer seems fit to explain to you whats happening.

So quick review:

The House passed a clean CR.

The senate has not passed anything.

Did we all not know about the 35-year Copyright reversion Clause? Gary K. Wolf just used it to get his Roger Rabbit rights back from Disney.

Apparently if you sold your rights to someone, you can serve them a notice between 25-38 years later and petition the library of congress to give them back.

I have never gotten the draw of Funko Pops and, having been stuck in booths near theirs at conventions & seen how they have zero respect for booths around them, kinda loathe them.

But also, people are gonna lose jobs and that sucks.
