I don't think anything will amuse me more today than a travel influencer's tiktok about Canada exploring the idea of a universal basic income, and him asking "how do you feel about people getting paid to do nothing?"

...well, I don't have any issue with influencers making money, so I'm fine?

UBI either becomes a reality very soon or politicians will be guilty of insane human suffering and blood shed. When hope is lost and despair comes , revolution is never far behind. I'd prefer not to see an angry mob mentality take control.

Bobby Tait on Retiring asked for and got his last game ref’d at Ibrox he was also a Rangers fan ! but yes the refs are all against them ! Incidentally they go on about Wullie Collum being a Catholic the very same Wullie Collum who gave Celtic nothing in any of our games he refereed !

Craig Levein on Ibrox ref bias a few years ago :

“Well, I can go back to a game when I was at Dundee United at Ibrox and the official was absolutely appalling.

“He made mistake, after mistake. It was his very last game. And he got given a game at Ibrox because, I believe, he was a Rangers fan.”

Tax wealth. Distribute universal basic income. See it as an owed GDP dividend.
Since 2000, the richest 1% of the world's population has taken 41% of new wealth, the poorest half has received only 1%.

Rich buy political parties, media, means of production, cause corruption, climate crisis, make mockery of democracy. Poor die early.

Must redistribute or risk social disorder.
We cannot continue letting billionaires keep the world's money while the poorest suffer

That’s where Universal Basic Income (UBI) comes in—not as charity, but as infrastructure. In an AI-driven economy, value will flow differently. Automation amplifies output, but without a new mechanism for distribution, inequality scales just as fast.

Quick summary of yesterday's big game decisions:
Celtic feel they had a goal harshly disallowed, a penalty harshly awarded against them, and that Rangers' Cornelius could have been sent off.
Rangers feel Celtic's Trusty could have been sent off.

I really love this Vincent Van Gogh quote:

"To do good work one must eat well, be well housed, have one's fling from time to time, smoke one's pipe, and drink one's coffee in peace."

No romanticizing the starving artist. Van Gogh said UBI all the way.

Look, I basically experienced UBI: I did a funded PhD in the humanities. I didn’t get rich (well I kinda did from my side hustle), but I had enough to live and great health insurance. I did an enormous amount of work that was interesting to me and frankly useless by any other measure.
Even if society provided the food/shelter level needs for everyone, humans also need to perform useful work just for basic fulfillment. The vast majority of people cannot sit around all day letting AI and robots do everything.

(The definition of “useful work” here is malleable but still essential)

That Desmond statement is like a continuation of that awful, "late Saturday night" #Celticfc statement back in Sept.

- No recognition of issues/failures
- Full of contradictions
- Blame others to deflect from board
- Show even more their disconnect from fans

Don't they just. When I've been going through Chemo, she lies with me making sure I'm OK.

When I'm sick she comes to ensure I'm good.

Generally she looks after me not the other way round.

When I've been on hospital 🏥 she then looks after my Mrs giving her comfort.

What STAR 🌟 🤩
