„Wer in großen Städten (…) 30 bis 40 Minuten öffentlich in die Arbeit pendelt, geht leer aus, am Land gibt es bereits für (…) kurze Distanzen Zuschüsse. Das große Pendlerpauschale – das nur dann zusteht, wenn öffentliche Verkehrsmittel unzumutbar sind – gibt es bereits ab (…) zwei Kilometern.“
Wer sich mit den vielen, vielen Pendlerförderungen in diesem Land beschäftigt, den wundert es nicht mehr, wie dieses Land am budgetären Pannenstreifen landen konnte. Kurzversion: absurd.
Trotz Sparpaket schüttet die Regierung das Füllhorn über die Pendler aus. Teilweise steigen Berufspendler mit einem Plus aus, bevor sie eine Minute gearbeitet haben. Kommentar von @winterjakob.bsky.social

This is a really good piece on the haves and have-nots of public higher education, using Western Illinois University as a case study. I'm worried about the future of rural higher education and rural America.

Found it: It was the transcript with slides from a presentation by Jonathan Corum at the University of Copenhagen’s Faculty of Health Sciences (@13pt.com). Limiting my Google results to pre2020 did the trick: style.org/ku/
