PDA in autism from stalking

Yes — online stalking can trigger a PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) response in some autistic people.

Here’s why, broken down clearly:

This has upset me so much and I find it very triggering so please take care reading

I think the reason autistic people struggle with unwritten social "rules" is that those "rules" are never universally applied.

Because they are not actually rules, they're more like standards that most people seem to align with. But not all... never all...

Things I like about being autistic:
1) playing a song over and over
2) playing a song over and over
3) playing a song over and over

Forgot to mention, playing a song over and over. It just feels so right and warm inside to do this.

Decline, repeatedly & emphatically, others' spoken & unspoken invitations to buy into any story about you that makes you feel like garbage & misrepresents who you are.

Remember: you are not who they say you are. You are who you choose to be, w/ each new moment & decision.

✨New research

Language shapes how others see us. So, what do neurodivergent people think of the words “neurodiversity” & “neurodivergent”?

- mixed views
- important that it’s used correctly (it often isn’t!)
- for some, it’s a safe umbrella term
- for others, it can be too broad or add to stigma

Waiting for my yearly mammogram. Really tired today and not sure why. Supposed to have dentist too but I cannot manage to wear the mouth guard due to sensory issues with my mouth. My jaw is crunching now. #FuckCancer #ActuallyAutistic

ABA proponents often claim play-based methods are “evidence-based” bc they produce measurable outcomes. The problem is what they measure. Most studies in ABA research focus on short-term behavior change—not long-term psychological health, identity or self-regulation.

But then nope nope nope: “…which is why early intervention is so important, especially social skills and ABA therapy.”
