Seeing some "the incoherence is the point" type of responses, and I want to make it clear it isn't really incoherent, you just have to think about the conservative worldview.

a lot of trans women are not actually socialized male but socialized doormat and some of them when accused of male privilege will instantly go into their trained cPTSD response of fawning and being apologetic for existing and taking up a modicum of space.
this is, of course, all done for the purpose of beating trans women into submission and making us apologize for even existing.

This isn't true, btw. Transphobes *do* remember trans men. But the approach is different: the transfem is the whipping girl to be burned at the stake, the transmasc is the renegade reproductive asset which must be returned to the rightful owner
"Transphobes forget that trans men exist" is one of those memes that stick around because the spaces that circulate the memes are pretty far removed from actively looking at how anti-trans movements operate these days, and it's setting expectations that lead to self-sabotaging rhetoric on our end.
