For #BirdoftheDay, here's a ring-billed gull perched on a coin-operated viewer in front of the Manhattan skyline. I mostly bird around NYC so I see a lot of #cityslickers like this gull.

I decided to snap a picture of this pretty super moon tonight instead of waiting until the early morning like I usually do. I’m so glad that I did because I got to share the telescope with several neighbors whom I don’t normally see at 3am. 🌝

BEAVER MOON: Moonrise has occurred over the East Coast... and what a beauty it is!

Tonight's full moon is the second of three consecutive "Supermoons", but this one will appear to be the largest of the year since the moon is closest to the Earth (perigee).

On Friday, I counted thirty starfish stranded on the beach. Since they sort of go where the water takes them, I'm wondering if the hurricane hundreds of miles away caused it or maybe our sudden cold snap made them lethargic. It's ok to gently pick them up and place them back in the water though. 🦑

I was taking a short break to walk the beach today and lucky me, these Bottlenose dolphins begun to strand feed about 70 feet/21 meters away. Such a thrill! Poor little one in the middle came up empty but the two on either side got big, juicy fish. 🦑 #Nature
