I hope to get a signed version up at some point, but in the meantime, I made a festivid!

Firewood, The Pitt. ‘Everyone knows you're going to live / So you might as well start trying’

A #Festivids rec:

This vid by marah_sarie is a perfect recruiter vid for Knight Flower, which was one of my best TV experiences last year. Cho Yeowha is a widow constrained by society’s rules by day, a masked, sword fighting hero of the downtrodden by night:

I made a vid for #Festivids! dirty_diana asked for Emmanouil Karalis (cute Greek pole vaulter) RPF & I made a vid about his very good face, friendship between competitors, and most of all about striving to be your own best though someone else will always be better

In other Festivids news, there are so many vids I opt not to watch because I haven’t watched the source but think I might, so I don’t want to be spoiled

Just exported a signed version of my festivid, and damn, I’m just so happy I made that vid.

Bruce Mouat is playing curling on my TV, so clearly it’s time to kick off the Olympics with the best image in winter sports: Gay Man with Cheese

We’re watching the first event of the Olympics, mixed double curling, Sweden vs South Korea. In the very first end, there is a power outage in the arena. 😂

people who want people to get into their fandoms and blorbos USE ALT TEXT
I love when I see a picture, and I think, “well who the fuck is that?” and then the alt text tells me who the fuck it is

My book is out!! Read about Drew and Ellis, a recovering workaholic and a recovering asshole who find love at a community volunteer group! It's got queers, it's got disability, it's got immigrants, and they spend the book working together and slowly becoming happier. www.amazon.com/dp/B0GKXFRXD5

@faefyre.bsky.social and I are watching Heated Rivalry on the Swedish one-ep-per-week streaming schedule, which means we have now watched two eps. Meanwhile, faefyre has fallen down the fandom hole, read the books, and keeps telling me about Connor Storrie things she finds on instagram.

I want to watch Festivids, but also I have a low level migraine

Roger Ebert often said that we cry (at movies) not because things are sad but because people are good.

They're often called to be good in the face of terrible things.

There is so much goodness in Minnesota right now.

This thread is beautiful
A few days ago, I stood in the graveyard of an 1100 year old church, getting damper and damper in the drizzling rain.

A woman walked into the graveyard, waved, said hello, and, as we had previously arranged, handed me a paper bag full of human bones.

The life of a churchwarden is a strange one...

Pick up the nearest book. Turn to page 42, post the second sentence:

Let me shake you by the hand, sir, and wish you joy.

Channel four is the only sane option.

Witness me, I talked myself into staying home tomorrow because my lungs are still fucked instead of going back to work because “maybe I’m not really sick enough not to go to work”. Actually felt worse today than yesterday. Do not approve, virus!

I am disproportionately pissed that I have been laid up with a cold this week when we’ve had amazing snowy weather and now they say next week we will have plus temps and everything will melt

We marathoned The Pitt s1 to fit a rewatch in just before s2. Still so good.

I know some of you are in fic fandom for this show. Do you have any recs? I can roll with pretty much any ships for this, I think.

@perclexed.bsky.social is someone I’ve known since way back in Smallville fandom, a great person whose had a lot of crap in her life. She’s currently living on disability and trying to scrape together the money to cover med costs related to a surgery in January. Any help hugely appreciated!
So I am officially asking for help. I tried pulling my thoughts together at my DW, which I dusted off for just this occasion. It’s the most recent entry here: perclexed.dreamwidth.org

My goal is $350. I’m at $265 right now. Stretch goal is $500. Relief goal is $750.

Deadline is Jan 3.

We have watched Wake Up Dead Man! Daniel Craig was looking fine and clearly having so much fun, and Father Jud is my favourite Knives Out protagonist so far. Fun!

I had better do a lot of drawing and pastel painting next year, because E gave me so many art supplies for Christmas
December 24, 2025 at 8:12 PM
Because my coworkers took turns being off sick last week, my last few days of work for the year were super busy and stressful, but now I am free until January 5th. Yay, Christmas break!

(I will work a bit from home on Boxing Day for reasons, but that’s mostly good because overtime pay)
