Caught Ramblings this morning - what a story! @nicolawriting.bsky.social talks about the indefatigable Miss White. Now I'm feeling a connection: semi-camping on site for months while the future gets built.
BBC Radio 4 - Ramblings, Ghosts of the Farm with Nicola Chester

Woke up this morning [*blues riff*] giggling about this. Apparently I didn't share it yesterday which was my error. Now fixed.
I flip the dog's ears upwards to 'air them out'.

The radio commentary on this tennis match sounds as if Annabel is having sex at the back of the box.

"Luchs speaks five languages: English, French, Italian, and some German and Russian. She approached grasping Gen Z parlance like she was learning another language.

...An Instagram commenter wrote: 'She’s so natural with it too like it’s not even cringe.'"
Alison Luchs, who has worked at the National Gallery of Art for 47 years, agreed to learn Gen Z slang and make videos because she wanted to raise interest in the museum’s art.

She never expected to slay. https://wapo.st/45BXc3S

The most important thing in a Zverev match is to beat Zverev. Come on Carlos. (Not watching, just following, so I can't see how Carlos' ?injury/cramp is feeling, but Z's outburst over the medical timeout was bloody typical. What an arse.)

4 bottles in the lefthand bin this evening. Might have to go and ask them what in the everloving fuck is going on. In a lighthearted way, of course. I am who I am. Even made them a cake today. None of THAT was in the bin, which would have been far worse.
My "recycling" bin was too vague for the builders, meaning I just had two general bins. I know, I thought. I'll be specific.

It's going well.

Fallen for this fabric (do not tell me you hate it please and thank you I'm getting my fun where I can), and have ordered samples of shades I think might go with it with names like copper, russet, moss, coffee bean, cardamon, chestnut, chocolate, espresso, and matcha. Being wowed by their vocab.

Reading this piece about #Bridgerton and thinking blimey, this writing is far superior to the usual Guardian stuff then realised why: it’s @dempster2000.bsky.social so OF COURSE it is. Also v v v funny. www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio...
Bridgerton season four review – fear not nudity fans, the sex scenes continue apace
This period drama’s puddingy mix of clunking soap and fairytale wish-fulfilment is hard to resist. It is, however, utterly bananas

In rainstorms, I often think about that Grand Designs couple who built a floating house on a Thames island, and whether they rise, smugly and majestically, as the floods come. Do you think they let their soggy neighbours in to dry their socks? Will it float off its dolphins and sail out to sea?

Asked my architects to do an updated imagined pic of the final result, so I can print it and put it up on the wall of the builders' tea room so the lads know what we're aiming for, and it looks gorgeous. Sunny day and everything. Gotta have a dream. If I weren't afraid of jinxing it I'd show you.
