I've seen this happen in four people's hands with the P.CymRD promoter in the Voigt Lab Marionette collection. It has two identical large operators. Barrick Lab's EFM Calculator is a great data-driven tool for predicting recombination. Promoters are especially prone because of selection pressure.

Good bioengineers are hard to come by. I like folks who get real technical with synbio, and who don't "dumb things down" just because I don't have a degree. @hsalis.bsky.social vibes always appreciated.
Also your lac operators aren't the minimal ones; needless flanking bases. Look up lacOsym, the stronger minimal symmetric lacO. Shorter the repeat, lower the recomb rate. Check with EFM Calc.

![i think there are lots of reasons that trying to engage with GL for Some closeted or pretransition tgirls feels psychologically prohibited or something that must be kept a secret to avoid bullying or harassment or is Evil Sinful Desire that simultaneously marks you as a Trooncoded Girl-Fag and a Fetishistic Pervert at once, but one is that not being considered "one of the [real] girls" i.e. the sense of platonic friendship and camaraderie among the queer women who otherwise make or consume GL makes you want to kill yourself (self-erase your existence) out of self-disgust for imposition and it is also this sense of "removal" that characterizes the abstracted engagement as explicit ambient spectator or implicit self-identification as one of the women in a GL work. this becomes much more loosened when you can better self-actualize in embodiment and desire and find community to be open with. that sense of "alienation" from broader GL still exists and lingers insofar as transmisogyny does, and as does the "two-fold" mechanism of ambient spectator and self-identification (a variation on "the woman always must be aware of how she is perceived" all women internalize that melts the subject/object distinction a bit) but now there is a third way: creative work that you put your heart and hands into](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:lpbrtmsvjk6dedp6rbfzwoya/bafkreibq6rc5qqfxhm44ga442kiedz6nbilvukdsfttczbtoucut5xjkqi@jpeg)
