The average US taxpayer spends $36 a year on SNAP

You know what they spend on corporate subsidies? $670

Poor and disabled people who need food are not the problem

If you’re angry about “your money” feeding people but not angry it’s giving tax cuts to the wealthy?

You’re doing their dirty work.

Dear Democratic Members of Congress:

I am urging each of you to adopt a food pantry this week. Make it clear that Trump and the GOP are withholding $5 billion in a contingency fund that could fund SNAP benefits and feed Americans, so you're adopting a food pantry in your district.

Guillermo del Toro on wealth: "a wealthy man is a man who has enough, not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite someone for a beer? You're rich. If you have a yacht, planes, islands, and you still need more? You're not rich."

NOT-SO-FUN FACT: Instead of supporting domestic farmers, Trump is now DOUBLING the taxpayer-funded bailout for Argentina, bringing the total to a whopping $40 billion. That’s nearly TWICE the cost of extending the ACA tax credits for an entire year!

#acrostic #pastoral Sending peace to all of us in these uncertain times.
Gentle
Rhapsody of breeze;
All the cattle. Four-legged
Zealots for this
Evanescent pasture.

Defy,
Upend,
Create. Innovate.
Kick up
Some dust.

Imagination is
Not necessarily tidy.

Although,

Right after creating our magic,
Order is sometimes a gift
We give ourselves as thanks.

Shout. Wail. Trumpet this
Open heart of yours, newly
Broken, freshly
Bleeding. Only cowards are
Invincible. Bellow anguished
Notes, rage in
Guttural tones. This is healing.

that I should show you this moment in Kyiv.
And maybe you’ll pass it on
to those who still think
Ukraine is only a battlefield.

It’s a good day to:
✅ make something
✅ hug a loved one
✅ snuggle a pet
✅ get out in nature
✅ move your body
✅ create a nourishing meal
✅ love harder
✅ find a reason for gratitude
✅ be with others
✅ remember that joy & community are forms of resistance, too. 🕊️

#ekphrastic #acrostic #poetry Memory from
Egypt. Philae Temple, 2019.
Perhaps you’ll see temples,
Obelisks and hieroglyphs.
Striking facades—
Towering pyramids.
Columns. Sphinxes.
And the goddess Bastet,
Raising her head—purring,
Daring you to pet her.

4 yrs ago today, I witnessed a volcanic eruption for the first time, close enough to feel the intense warmth of the Earth's creation on my skin. It literally changed my life. I may spend the rest of my life seeking an experience as powerful as this and never find it, and that's okay.
