Fundraising drop from @onecityvan.bsky.social on IG 👀

That's 200k in four months - or 50k per month. Without any candidates locked in & fundraising like mad.

Those are ABC numbers

City of Vancouver has not been paying all workers a living wage, which pushes rising costs onto its lower-paid workers. City Council should lead by example and pay workers enough to afford Vancouver. Sign up to support @lucymaloney.bsky.social and @ptfry.bsky.social ’s upcoming motion on Wednesday.

This past weekend we watched the #eastvanpanto, which is a family tradition for us. We always love their productions and this year was no exception! This Romeo-and-Juliet-inspired story titled "East Van Panto: West Van Story" was both hilarious and timely.

Canada’s anti-greenwashing rules protect our health, but they’re under threat.

Send a message to Ottawa: don’t give fossil fuel companies the license to lie to us. Choose truth, health and transparency instead.

This Tuesday, Council continues hearing on DTES Plan changes. Uplifting the DTES matters — but the current proposals risk displacing the most vulnerable, without real alternatives. We need deeply affordable housing in DTES and across the city. Speak or write to Council to voice your concerns.

Proud to support this motion from Councillor @lucymaloney.bsky.social to restrict right-on-red to protect vulnerable road users like my family. Hoping to see it actually and comprehensively reflected in the City's Vision Zero Study.
Next up @ionabonamis.bsky.social strongly supports. As a mother, emphasizes how this will protect vulnerable residents esp kids, seniors, people w/ disabilities. Has seen countless close calls with RoR. Had an incident while cycling on Granville & 10th that sent her to emergency room.

This morning, Ken Sim and ABC killed Vancouver’s Social Housing Initiative, which would’ve allowed more non-market housing, like co-ops, social housing, supportive housing, to be built faster.
Vancouver needs a City Council that will take action on affordable housing, because Ken Sim and ABC won’t.

I had a great time chatting with folks at last night's @ahvancouver.bsky.social holiday social. The room was filled with people with passion, enthusiasm, and expertise in housing, especially non-market and rental housing.

Looking forward to more conversations in the new year!

Ken Sim is putting Citizen Committees on the chopping block, claiming that staff won't have enough capacity to manage them. If City Hall is so busy, why is ABC firing so many people? Please take a moment to tell Council how you feel about these cuts. More info: www.ionabonamis.ca/articles/cut...

I attended my last meeting tonight as a Trout Lake Community Centre Association Board Director. It's been a blast over the past four years. I've met many amazing leaders and community members who pour hours of volunteer time each week to make our community richer, stronger, and more resilient.

It's been an incredibly frustrating day with Vancouver passing an austerity budget that will cut funding for important public services and infrastructure and fire hundreds of staff, even after over 600 speakers, including myself, speaking out against the harm that this budget will do to our city.

Just came back from the diaper "change-in" event at Vancouver City Hall. What a great turnout! We even sang some well-loved baby songs ) with brand new lyrics written by @margiesanderson.bsky.social (make sure to listen to my video in the comments)!
