CAFE is one of the dumbest ways to make cars more efficient, and it’s probably part of the reason cars are so big (which I wrote about years and years ago www.thedrive.com/news/small-c... ) so reform to its standards would be welcome! But no let’s rip the copper out of the walls instead
Why Is Every Car Getting Bigger? Fuel Efficiency, Of Course
Corporate Average Fuel Economy is making things worse, but not in the way detractors claim.

I feel it's worth noting that in tuesday's meeting in the House Committee on Energy and Commerce about a shitton of "protect the children!" internet bills, committee members advocated for leaving carve outs in their various censorship/surveillance bills for advertisers to keep advertising at kids
The Horses situation has brought this Epic Games policy to my attention and it might be the most embarassing exception put to print

EU friends, please take a few minutes to contact your representatives to oppose this bill. We know and understand how flawed these measures are, but those in charge clearly do not.

You can use the contact tool at the link below to generate an email with all the addresses you can speak to.

🚨‼️As of yesterday KOSA is at 64 cosponsors with @vanhollen.senate.gov + @kim.senate.gov - who claim to support LGTBQ+ rights but are clearly okay with supporting legislation that’ll censor us off the internet- newly signed on.

Btw, I remember there being some anxieties around folks expressing their opinions during primaries.

Besides being nowhere near a presidential primary at the moment, now is in fact the time for people to express certain lines they expect candidates not to cross.

And the era of digital prohibition begins. Politicians will censor the web “for the children” but won’t lift a finger to stop kids from being murdered in their own school.
This is kind of weird to be honest.

Add FADPA, ACPA and BlockBEARD to your list of bills youre telling your federal representatives to oppose alongside KOSA, IODA and the SCREEN Act

Remember you can just tell them "oppose these bills!". No need to say more unless you want to! Keep it simple!

Collective shout is a convenient scapegoat. The current administration’s considering this one of their objectives to abolish section 230 of the online communication decency act.

The section that absolves websites and online programs of being held responsible for user content.

KOSA is back. This is the internet censorship bill!

And it's not just coming for SWers, it'll be coming for all LGBTQ content, because the people in charge view LGBTQ people as inherently pornagraphic!

We must push back even harder than we did last time we killed this bill 🔥

It’s time for our own collective shout. Who are you calling?

Remember: Stress you’re a repeat caller on this issue and that you heard about this controversy on the news. With Visa, ask for a supervisor once you hit a dead end. Calls should always last longer than 30 seconds

Literally none of the time you spent calling Visa/MasterCard this week will matter if this shit passes

Yes it's exhausting to have more calls to make

But this *is* life or death

This bill is a true nightmare - ICE given endless resources to kidnap and imprison, guts Medicaid, thousands of deaths, destroys green energy - call your senator right now and tell them you do not want this bill, ESPECIALLY if they’re a Republican.
