Just saw an HBO ad for Murder in Glitter Ball City by Louisville’s David Dominé…I heard him speak about the book about 4 years ago and it was fascinating. Congrats to him on the adaptation!

I've found it weird that so many people I've spoken to didn't realize that indie bookstores could do preorders or easily get you books that aren't on their shelf. You just need to ask!

I need to brag for a second: My annual review was excellent (“exceeded expectations”), I subsequently got a raise, AND my employer is going to offset part of the cost of a certification exam for me.

Fun fact: Jodie Foster dubbed her own films into French. I remember being blown away by that fact when I was still working on fluency.
Nowadays, I can hear her teeny tiny accent and the minor errors she makes when she speaks French. But! This doesn’t take away from her mastery of the language. ❤️

My BFF from France visited over the holidays but didn’t take any bourbon back with her. Yesterday she picked up a bottle and when I asked her what she’d purchased, she sent me a photo of a bottle of Weller 12. 😂

I tutor a young gal in French every week* and sometimes I nerd out so hard with her; I get so excited by links between languages and I go off on little tangents. She doesn't seem to mind, and I hope I'm helping her make connections and retain information.

Someone used my email address to sign up for Match dot com, and I just changed the password to the account. Her phone number is there for 2FA, of course, but I was able to do it with the email, so we may get into a situation where we just keep changing the password. 😂
