Hey can we bring back all those internet safety campaigns we had when I was a millennial teen? It is NOT my job to parent someone else's kids and have to submit my ID to places to sanitize the internet for some puritanical outrage about kids. Parents should be doing this themselves.

Itβs not the kidβs fault that these parasites took away all the kid friendly spaces like poptropica or club penguin.
I feel theyβre trying to stir resentment towards younger folks online so those kids are ignored or dismissed- which leaves them vulnerable to predators that understand this.

This is not Discord βwalking things back.β This is them further explaining the situation in more detail, and elaborating on how the new system will work. I understand the impulse to attribute this to outrage and Nitro cancellations, but this is just a better explanation, not a change.
Discord is already starting to walk things back a little, so people should keep doing what they're doing (cancel Nitro, leave feedback/criticism, direct contact through support tickets/phone/email/etc)
