One of the news items very overlooked today is that something historic happened in Syria. It became the first Arab country to recognise Kurdish as a national language, Kurds as a national minority, institute laws protecting Kurds, and undo the horrible Assad crime who stripped Kurds of citizenship.

I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

I want to point out that the NRA and other anti-government groups had been screaming about the threat of "obey or die" for decades. Yet now that we're here, crickets. That's because they were softening the ground for the present moment.
