USA Today, Indie, and international bestselling author of the DANGEROUS DAMSELS and LOVE'S ACADEMIC series. More scared of heights than someone who wrote about flying houses ought to be.

Welcome to my pinned post, in which I am obliged to advise you that my books have been formally described as "bonkers" but "joyous," that they are cozy, light academia historical fantasy romcoms, and that they contain an equal measure of tea drinking and blowing things up.

New book announcement!! I am over the moon to introduce WISHSPUN, a cozy, cottagecore fantasy romance coming 2027. This is truly the book of my heart and I'm having the most wonderful time writing it.

It's here! I'm completely in love with the cover for THE ANTIQUARIAN'S OBJECT OF DESIRE!!

This cozy fantasy romcom features bff history professors, fake hating, magical antiques, and a hero who's blond but I hope you'll love him despite that. It's available to prėorder and add on Goodreads now.

I know I'm never here, I find it too unintuitive for me personally, but I'm popping in to let you know that I'm thinking about starting a private online reader's group for my books. If that's something you'd be interested in, there's a poll in my instagram stories. instagram.com/india.holton 💙

On World Autism Day, I'm thinking in particular about these two, who are so very dear to me. All my books feature neurodiversity, but Daniel and Alice (along with Gabriel in The Geographer's Map to Romance) touched my heart in a way I can never forget.

If you like the sound of:

- a dreamy, sunshiney, Anne Shirley coded heroine
- a grumpy Mr Darcy coded hero
- a story with Twister vibes, but about earth magic
- a book Julia Quinn calls "funny" and "cozy"

then you might like The Geographer's Map to Romance. Details below ...

Just got a mail notification that I'm pretty sure means my author copies for The Geographer's Map to Romance are on their way across the ocean. Yay! It's always such an * a m a z i n g * moment to hold the finished book. I can't wait to put her on a shelf with her sisters.

"Weird shit" is basically the tagline for The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels. Can I interest anyone in flying houses and a heroine who is excited that she has a contract on her head?
hey i know we're in a period of using the speculative to tell heartwarming and cozy stories right now but i'm really excited for books that use the speculative to do really fucked up weird shit

They say you should write what scares you, but I've always written what brings me joy. Lady pirates in flying houses...professors running after enchanted birds...idiots arguing in the middle of a dangerous magical storm...My hope is that they bring readers some joy too, along with making them think.

Another romance-inspired feb manicure, "The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels" by @indiaholton.bsky.social. Proper ladies who are also ruthless pirates with flying houses instead of boats. Pure joy to read. #TheWisteriaSocietyOfLadySoundrels #booksky #nailart

Y’all, I finished reading this book last week and it was SO GOOD! I resented anything that interrupted my reading of it. I need to dive into @indiaholton.bsky.social ‘s other books IMMEDIATELY.

What summer does to my brain: I just spent ten minutes wishing I had a cup of tea, only to realise that one had been sitting in front of me the whole time.

Every now and again I hear people talking about how awesome this place is, so I pop back, block the bots who have followed me in the meanwhile, hunt yet again for the post button, say something inane like this, then leave again. Hugs to everyone!! (Except the bots.)

Being an anxious introvert is a professional plus for me, since writing is basically overthinking, just with chapters and a three act structure.
