🥗 Just because the weather's getting cooler (and wetter) doesn't mean a lack of locally grown seasonal veggies.

👩‍🌾 We have two excellent growers in #NorthLondon who sell nature friendly food all year: Enfield Veg Co and GROW.

They operate slightly differently, find out more in the comments below 👇
Disappointed in the @the-wildlifetrusts.bsky.social who has an account here with 3.3k followers but has never posted.

I was going to share its recent Wild Live event but won't if they can't be bothered to post it here.

I might start choosing who to support based on their twitter:bluesky usage 😔

The Govt’s own assessment warns that climate change & biodiversity loss threaten long-term food security & worsen natural disasters.

I’m pressing for a debate on the Joint Intelligence Assessment so Parliament can scrutinise this important report.

An across-government technical assessment published today recognises that "nature is the foundation of national security" and that "every critical ecosystem is on a pathway to collapse". A rational response to this would be to get very serious about nature recovery.

I think, even if you don't live in London, #WildLondon is a great watch.

My least favourite stat: By the end of summer there could be as many as 14,000 slugs in a london garden 😮

My most favourite quote: The best place to enjoy nature is close to home 😍

I was a bit sad today when I needed to have the small boats chat with my mum.

The rhetoric of excessive immigration has reached her, a generally open-minded women in her 70s living in a majority white town in the Midlands.

Can anyone recommend further resources to help me with future chats?

What a delightful mini series about food plants on BBC sounds.

Made in the 80s the series gives a snapshot to our recent food history and much is still relevant.

16 x 8-min episodes about a range of foods from beans to wheat, covering their history and importance to the world we live in.

Enjoy!

Well that's a wrap for 2025!

A few weeks ago we had a terrific time decorating the garden, having a quick tidy up and planting some bulbs before leaving the whole space (and us) to have a breather for a few months.

Here's to more garden fun in 2026, but first it's time to rest 😊
