I had not had a chance to read the paper until now. Now I can say it is even cooler than I had anticipated. Congrats to all the authors.
Thus: Genetic/pharmacological modulation demonstrates GPR68’s role in acid-induced colonic nociception, supporting its therapeutic potential for pain management in colitis.

Acid-induced pain is complex: there are LOTS of acid sensors; acid-induced pain is common in the animal kingdom, but not naked mole-rats, see @interlukein.bsky.social’s review royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/...
