Just FYI for followers, I don’t follow back if you're under 21. Personal boundary, not trying to be mean. I also would ask that if you are under 18 that you do not follow me. I've worked in pediatrics and child protection spaces most of my career, and I'm just trying to promote best practice 🫶🏻

"To put things into perspective: I had a Canadian passport, lawyers, resources, media attention, friends, family and even politicians advocating for me. Yet, I was still detained for nearly two weeks.

Imagine what this system is like for every other person in there."

I am a swiftie who loves Taylor and her music. I am NOT a swiftie who bullies new heights to the point they take down their congratulations post.

COME ON YALL ITS LITERALLY SO EMBARRASSING TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS KIND OF STUFF. PLEASE GROW UP.

🧵 If you’re applauding the abolishment of the Department of Education, you need to do a little research. You have ZERO clue what the DOE actually does.

Here’s a reality check on what the Department of Education actually does:

Ao3 isn't social media. It's an archive. It's in its name. Stay away from it if you don't like it.
no way people are asking for a dislike button on ao3 bestie that’s the back button your browser

what do your moots smell like?

On special occasions, it's Jo Malone's Wild Bluebell cologne, but on your average day to day, I'm a straight-up lavender and coconut oil girl.

Me, having tried all day to disconnect from work and compartmentalize only to continuously ruminate and obsess over the ONE meeting that went wrong this week and all the ways I could have STFU before it soured: "Time to get an appointment and see about getting back on the ol' anti anxiety meds..."

I wish people who want to be defeatists would start by defeating their own urge to spread their spirit of surrender. It's not helpful and it's not an accurate assessment of the present or the possibilities. Yes, we're in a hideous crisis. Yes, there's lots to do and lots of people trying to do it.

I know everyone has haters but today I discovered that Chappell Roan has haters who have chosen the "she can't sing" angle and look, I can't stand Tom Brady but you wouldn't catch me dead embarrassing myself by claiming in public that he's bad at football

My sister in law is sitting next to me talking about how Benson Boone's performance started off having the same energy as Sabrina's down to the same color scheme, and I'm trying not to spiral into conspiracy theories over that. #Grammys

If you're looking for a new YA Fantasy series to read, I highly recommend you pick up this first book by a talented indie author.

@sunday1994.bsky.social announced their first headlining tour, and tickets went on sale this week. However, none of the tour dates are near Atlanta, nor are they at a time where I can take a vacation and go see them them elsewhere. I'm just gonna be crying in a corner singing LOTLFH by myself 😭

Hey, so. I’m going to hold your hands while I say this. Someone’s every single post not being about Taylor doesn’t make them any less of a swiftie. How someone is a fan isn’t yours to dictate. We’re not doing that making people feel invalid or inadequate mess over here.

This is going to impact so much. Those of us in public mental health use BRFSS data to track ACES, and in some states, it's the only ACES data we have.
🚨 The CDC just pulled all BRFSS data & documentation offline, along with other datasets. This is a huge loss for public health research.

What does it mean? Why does it matter?

Here's what I learned from using BRFSS for one of my first studies: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32541614/

Remember, for Tuesday and for always: there is no virtue in cynicism.

Doubt. Caution. Skepticism. These can be useful things.

But not cynicism.

Cynicism helps nothing, teaches nothing, inspires nothing, solves nothing.

It isn't even good gallows humor.

Don't be cynical.

One thing before tomorrow:

Use your local libraries.

Get your card.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.

They are.
