NZ media, you are in the spotlight.
news broke about Tim Jago yesterday evening

stories aren't being loaded up yet this morning

but I want people to keep in mind that what David Seymour oversaw and ignored is well beyond the threshold for every outlet to have a daily, top of the bill story to pressure the narrative

New Treasury data shows that, as of December, the deficit was $1.2b (31%) less than forecast and net debt was $4.5b less than forecast at only 21.7% of GDP

The Govt has inherited healthy books. The only reason for service cuts is to fund the planned $1b/yr tax cuts for landlords.

HELP NZ peeps! Last year, a fabulous NZ Twitter member was kind enough to share her Xmas cake recipe (with red wine in) and it was amazing ❤️❤️❤️. Then my son 'helpfully' ran a cleaner through my device to free up the memory and suddenly, the screenshot was gone. Does anyone have a copy?

Let’s be clear.

If you’re a Woman set to vote against our interests, by voting #NACT, we ask you to deeply reconsider your decision.

Such a choice gravely endangers the many advances we’ve gained.

It’s a vote against our safety & further progress.

It’s a vote against Women.
Women are the first to feel cutbacks in employment opportunities, health, education, social security and welfare.

So, we were supposed to go to Bali in 2020, and 2021. Now we're finally doing it tomorrow. Squeeeee! BUT, probably not. My hubby came off his bike on Saturday morning and can barely walk. He's had it reconstructed before so knows this isn't good. I'm heartbroken - both for him...

What this headline helpfully crystallises is that the misogynistic attacks on Ardern were never simply about her behaviours, skills, values and decisions but, rather, a message to all women to stay out of public life, get back in the kitchen and serve the patriarchy. #nzpol #leadership #misogny

At the end of the week, wastewater will give the very first sense of underlying case rates, so changes to underreporting, since masking and isolation rules were dropped. But I continue to think an awareness of how it is going for old people in care is important.

Oh well, I guess NZ can always look back fondly at those times when it did the right thing for the people, rather than the right thing for capitalism.

#nzlabour I have voted for you for many, many elections - even volunteering. We have been toying with switching to Greens (better tax and climate policies) but changing is hard for us. Your removing of Covid restrictions has decided for us. You no longer care. #NewGreenVoters
