Fixing unemployment insurance in US states can feel Sisyphean at times. But maybe this year New York State will get serious about fixing its inadequate and regressive tax structure, which has led to a freeze in benefits levels since 2019. Here's my op ed --

In Ithaca - Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit (TCAT) workers represented by @uaw.org Region 9 have been negotiating for a fair contract for three weeks without reaching an agreement with management.

One worker tells me a strike is “very feasible” at this point.
