We don’t know what’s in the tentative agreement between Air Transat and its pilots, but it’s clear that the lack of a threat of government intervention kept management at the table to hammer out an agreement. That’s how bargaining is supposed to work.

Research on strikes and lockouts depends on consistent longitudinal data. We need it to identify trends & shifts in labour relations. Without good data, you can’t properly analyze, compare & contextualize current labour conflicts.

Good event. It set out rationales for broader bargaining relationships in Cdn labour relations, explained how it could work, and politely identified union reluctance as one barrier to progress. Coincidentally, at this yr's OFL convention, just 3 of the 137 submitted resolutions mentioned the topic.
