117,000 people live within half a mile of the E line, opening for service today. It marks the 8th BRT line in the region and the third new BRT line that Metro Transit has opened this year. Transit is getting better every single day in MN.

New apartment coming to 4109-4113 Sheridan Ave in Linden Hills. Already causing a stir on Next Door and won't come easy. But, it replaces two old but somewhat ugly buildings and adds 13 units along a rapid bus route!

The looming MFE teachers strike and potential MPLS school downsize just reminds me that there aren't any leaders advocating for a positive vision for public schools with the goal of enrolling all children in Minneapolis. Instead everyone is focused on right sizing and charter schools.

Has anyone noticed the more obvious rightward shift in 5 Eyewitness and Fox 9 news? The online articles and segments have been real bad lately. Anoka county is taking over the Metro talking points.

Is word of mouth getting out about how great the Orange line is? Ridership has grown and average 4.4% per month this year.

Bosses hated the Biden-era job market where they had to fight over employees instead of abusing them, so used their control over the media to turn inflation into the number one issue, predict a fake recession that never happened, and try to convince Americans to tank the economy. It worked.
The Indeed job postings index is down 2.5 points nationally since Jan 20, DC has fallen 10.6 points--the trend is continued cooling in labor demand

Public transit is about connecting people to their work, school, health care and more – it’s about economic opportunity.

I was so excited to celebrate the Gold Line’s first day of service, thanks to the partnership of local, state and federal officials.

Besides the last one, I really like Meet Minneapolis' ideas for downtown! I still think we need more street trees, city involvement in filling in surface parking, and the post office turning into mixed use housing.

I think part of the reason why Twins Cities politics is so messy is *because* we have such good access to information. Gives us a lot to discuss.
I really think that, to the extent that your budget permits, it is important to both subscribe to the Strib *and* contribute monthly to outlets like MinnPost, the Reformer, Sahan Journal, Racket, etc that you read.

It's an entire ecosystem that is tied together. If we lose it, we won't get it back.
