I think I've found a way to articulate what bothers me about the trajectory of the modern tech industry (and to some extent... society).
We are on this Earth to provide for each other. That's the "mission" of humanity as I see it.
This is incompatible with what the tech industry seeks to do.

The vital question in any genre story is...how much more should the reader know than the hero knows? A lot? A little? How far do you want to tip your hand? Do you seed little hints? Or do you do a full-on early 90s cartoon outro of the villain laughing evilly at the end of the first chapter/episode?

Fear of the constitution when it can and should be changed but a complete disdain for the trees necessary for us to breathe.
These aren’t new ideas but I feel we need to shed our fear of institutions, they are man made and can be remade preferably better. I don’t know why we allow such destruction

We have too much reverence for man made systems and laws and not enough reverence for natural systems and laws. Our government can be remade, our ecosystem can not.
