I talk about gaming, technology and whatever catches my brain in the moment.

I like to think I can do programming until the ADD demon in my head gets me.

So they didn’t like the ad. Let’s just post Reagan’s 5 min speech against tariffs as it appears on YouTube.

Over and over. On all platforms (some of y’all are still on X).

*1981 Sherrilyn horrified by 2025 Sherrilyn saying “let’s post Reagan’s speech.”

Absolute bombshell from @jeffhorwitz.bsky.social:

Meta's internal research found that Instagram's algorithms preferentially displayed harmful content to vulnerable teens.

I'm glad I left Instagram back when I did, even if it was for other reasons (their anti-LGBTQ policies).
Exclusive: Instagram shows more ‘eating disorder adjacent’ content to vulnerable teens, internal Meta research shows
Meta researchers found that teens who report that Instagram regularly made them feel bad about their bodies saw significantly more “eating disorder adjacent content” than those who did not, according to an internal document reviewed by Reuters.

Been thinking this for a while but should probably post it for posterity.

Nintendo has become the Disney of Video Games.

They have everyone's childhood by the balls and abuse it.

Also we should call their equivalent of Disney Adults as Nintendults.

CA governor Gavin Newsom vetoed both of the major AI bills on his desk that Silicon Valley meaningfully opposed—one making it illegal for bosses to use AI to fire workers with no oversight, one requiring chatbot sellers to ensure their products do not harm children before marketing to them.
Silicon Valley's capture of our political institutions is all but complete
The tech lobby kills off two key California AI bills, and why it matters. Plus: How Sam Altman played Hollywood with Sora 2, organized mass social media deletions, and more.

Hideo Kojima on AI

"A lot of people use AI in creative work to come up with ideas, but ... I would lead the creative part and use AI to boost efficiency. I'd like AI to handle the tedious tasks that would lower cost and cut down on time ... co-creating with AI instead of just using it"

Trump verbally recognizing the humanity of Palestinian people when many Democratic leaders failed to do so is hard to process.

He is motivated by personal gain and doesn’t answer the question about displacement, but these words are the type of rhetorical crumbs for which activists begged Democrats.
Trump: "I am looking at the faces of the people. Those are people like you and I and they are people that look so fantastic. And they're walking back to a house that's demolished... I saw good people."

Fox News: "Will they be able to stay in Gaza?"

Trump: "I think so. I hope so."
