The transfer window is the biggest event in football these days. It's fun to cover, but I can't help but relate with @huwdavies.bsky.social's question here.

Discovered that my knee is not in fact recovered when I had to crouch to sit for a kids’ event, lost my balance, put my whole weight on it and educated a few under-6s by involuntarily shouting, “ARGH JESUS FUCK”

If the permabanned list didn’t have Pulp on it, this whole thing would pretty much be perfect (and this is a Sheffield pub so maybe it’s just an overplay thing)

Of course, back in my day, £10m bought you a player for more than one tournament but then it was all fields
£10m for a player leaving on a free.

I am now in favour of the Club World Cup.

Well played, Liverpool.

I reckon 2024 is the second election in a row to have been won by obviously malicious frauds shitehoused to power by Britain’s appalling media outlets, and the second one running where the new government made it embarrassingly obvious to everyone straight away that this is what happened.
How can this be happening, if it’s true that the public were clamouring for a mean as fuck do-nothing Labour government led by repellent briefcase psychos, as we have been angrily assured they were over and over at remarkable volume and intensity for years on end?
