Rosoman was a fireman in the Blitz. The men in the painting died. It haunted him. He painted the scene many times.

He was later an important teacher; David Hockney was one of his students. He died aged 98 in 2012.

The finale of the great TV comedy show Blackadder goes Forth.
Back then I didn't expect one of the funniest programmes ever to end with a scene that makes me cry every time I see it.
Every single time.

Kicking myself. Bought a wee cross body bag for my iPhone yesterday for £7.95

Oh well
Apple has made a $230 iPhone sock 😅 the iPhone Pocket is actually a knitted bag, and Apple will start selling it on Friday www.theverge.com/news/818328/...
Apple made a $230 crossbody… sock
The iPhone Pocket isn’t really a pocket at all.

Lived here for 22 years but I think we’re done with this street. Tired of shitty neighbours and their DGAF about anyone around them

Had to involve the polis with one last year and now the dog warden on another today. Nobody likes a grass but doing nothing could get someone seriously hurt or worse

Timeline’s grim. Weather’s grim.

Shower, fresh coffee and butteries. Then I’m going to put on my newly refurb’d Doc Martens and go somewhere nice. Not sure where that will be but I’ll know it when I see it.

Overwhelming sense of sadness when I woke up this morning. Not giving in to it so it’ll be a day of getting shit done.

There’s wood to be cut and a Christmas cake to be started for starters.

And a to-do list. A big one.

I really love this Vincent Van Gogh quote:

"To do good work one must eat well, be well housed, have one's fling from time to time, smoke one's pipe, and drink one's coffee in peace."

No romanticizing the starving artist. Van Gogh said UBI all the way.
