Cats and gardening, mostly.
Now that it's gotten cold, Junior and Blizzard have started doing cute snuggles. Poor Fluffy is the third wheel.

In 2016, Jane Goodall spoke at the International Primatological Society meetings. She closed her talk asking everyone to thank the primates we studied not with applause, but with their calls. And so a room full of Very Eminent Primatologists made delighted monkey noises to Jane Goodall. ⚱️🐒🧪🌍

This is the dream.
I don't know why this lad is building a subterranean city for cats, but I'm all for it.

I'm in for a breast exam and the gown they gave me is so small that if I pull it tight I'm still bare from nipple to nipple.

Saw this unfamiliar but dapper-looking beetle when harvesting catnip to dry. inaturalist pegged it as a burning blister beetle, which doesn't sound like a bug to mess with. I looked it up and they do blister your skin and you absolutely do not want to eat them. Horses have died from eating too many.

I went out with a flashlight to pick raspberries for my cheesecake and immediately got dive-bombed by moths. Worth it, but I don't think I'm going to make a habit of midnight gardening.

A baby raccoon just honked threateningly at me. Really didn't expect him to make that sound or be that determined to get at the cat food.

This handsome gentleman won't let me smooch him.

I'm lying on my side on the couch and my cat came and laid on my shoulder. He put his forehead down on my head and snored directly into my ear for a while. Now he's draped over my head with his belly against my ear. There's lots of popping and gurgling. Please send help

Mwah! You've just been kissed by a baby goat 💚 Nutmeg was born just last year, and she's not just precious to us, but to her whole breed -- she's part of the critically endangered English goat breed, and represents a new generation of goats at Butser.

There's a feral my mom started calling Pierre on account of his jaunty beret, and I have come to think perhaps he should be Madame Pierre instead of Monsieur. There's an upside down ceramic pot in one of the flower beds that Pierre is reputed to hold in deep affection.

The garage kitties have come out into the cold to refuel after more than seven hours of hard cuddling. Usually they'll get up to stretch and trigger the camera recording, but not tonight.

It's past time to begin starting seeds, but I'm totally burnt out on gardening. I was burned out last year, too, but I pushed through. This year I don't even want to look at a seed catalog.

The ladies allowed me to photograph them in decent lighting for once. Fluffy (left) isn't keen on me waving a phone in her face.

I got my mom a camera for the garage and we just got it set up today. It's positioned for widest view, not best pics. Here's Kitten all alone in the big bed right now. Her BFFs Sam and Mama were with her earlier.

Got very little sleep last night and tried to go to bed early, but I've just been tossing and turning. My bedroom smells like a pizzeria and it's maddening.

My friendliest feral, Sam, spent the day in the garage, cuddled up to his small sidekicks, Mama and Kitten. When it started snowing, they came out to frolick. I don't know what makes this different to previous snows, but they seem delighted.

New year, new feral cat. He's gray with big tomcat cheeks and the prettiest teal green eyes, and he decided to have lunch at our house today, to much confusion as there's another gray cat, Shadow, who's been coming around for months.

It's two days before Christmas and unseasonable warm, and the outdoor mall in the sprawl at the edge of the city was dead. Half of the smaller stores closed at 5 or 6. At Home locked the doors on the mall side at 6 so we had to walk around to the parking lot side. Marshalls and Homegoods were

Someone made a mess at the bus stop, and the beer bottles and snack cakes I get, but who just leaves a pound of fresh Brussels sprouts?

My cat would like to recommend the Dynasties episode about Painted Wolves to fellow wildlife documentary fans. Personally, I had a lot of unanswered questions, but he was transfixed by the puppies with ridiculous ears. (He also liked the lions even though they were antagonists.)
