My home state got snow before my adopted home state. I live in Massachusetts. I’m originally from Tennessee. Weird.

I turned 58 on Nov. 3rd. Know what’s crazy about aging? How you grasp so many things about life at once, but are too tired to follow all the threads.

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Walmart has been around forever. I first shopped at one in the 1980s. A typical Wally World vibe hasn’t changed that much, but the huge one near our house is truly some kind of dystopian commercial hellscape and I’m not sure I ever want to go there again, lol.

Always resisting the impulse to post something super random like “The Snow Wasps sing their venom into your veins with barbs of melody a million measures long,” because people might think that’s weird.

Profoundly alarmed at how much this robot’s “thinking” sounds like my own internal monologue.

Petition to start referring to IRL as “in the wild” to make it more appealing.

- “Oh yes, we know each other in the wild. No, not in the dirty way.”

- “LMAO in the wild.”

- “So we met at a coffee shop in the wild and spent half an hour talking about her vestigial tail.”

The hand on his head is a MASSIVE tell. That’s very specific body language between two people.
I never gossip. Except to save a soul. Or a conversation. So you won't catch me repeating the rumors about JD Vance and Erika Kirk.

I joined some new (to me) and interesting Facebook groups, but my GAWD that site is absolutely overrun with AI slop. Posts straight from ChatGPT’s bunghole doling out trivia that’s often completely wrong, accompanied by plastic-looking, hyperreal images of celebs irrelevant to the post.

There is a potential future in which That Ballroom eventually turns into a museum of exhibits covering all the crimes committed by this administration. Of course there are countless potential futures, many of them even worse than the present, but, you know, just sayin'.

Probably my weirdest opinion: The robot revolution—humanoids, androids, whatever they want you to call them—is a good thing. We as a species are super bored with each other and getting twitchier every year.
