Hooklanders have many names for twilight. Among my favourites are 'the blue hour' – capturing the sky's long-stretching towards bruise – and 'rook rest'. The latter holds part of my practice. I love to stand before wood edge at rook rest and here their gossip of the dying day. – #EmilyCBanting

This is really good! I am playing as me, more or less, but already looking forward to trying again as someone flirtier and more disruptive.
It's been six years since Crème de la Crème came out and I regularly get people saying they found it for the first time and loved it. I feel so very lucky that it's brought joy to this many people, and that making it has enabled me to do this weird lovely work as a job

While off work I've been writing a little queer fantasy story about an unwell warlock tracking a monster across the fens to put it down (then drama ensues). Writing linear prose feels concrete in a way I've not done for a while, and it's also nice doing something creative that's just for me for now.

Consider making 2026 the Year of the Personal Website. Even a little thing on Neocities works. It’s just nice to have a home base on the internet that you don’t have to deal with bsky mods are random popping into every post and if something goes wrong with your host, you just move it elsewhere
