I'm sure that the for-profit prison owners are delighted these days.
ICE has now spent over half a BILLION dollars just on purchasing warehouses around the country to convert into detention camps.
If these mega-camps are utilized to the full capacity ICE intends, they'll be the largest prisons in the country, with little real oversight. www.ajc.com/politics/202...

But I'm going to watch Bad Bunny tonight.
I probably won't like the music, but I'm not watching a crap show put on by a bunch of beta bigots on an alternative network.

Why are so many undocumented immigrants being held in detention for so long instead of being deported?
Simple. The billionaires who own the detention centers get paid for keeping people here. They don't get paid for people who get deported.

ICE was flawed from day one... born out of post-9/11 fear and built on policies that blurred national security with domestic control. Some systems don’t need reform. They need to be abolished.

Just for context, I've decided to start posting Daily Journals to Bluesky, and cutting and pasting them to Word Documents on my laptop and adding context, for the foreseeable future. Hopefully I won't bore anyone following me by doing this. I'll still post and re-post other things like politics.

DAILY JOURNAL FEB 1, 2026 #2 - I finally dug my rain gauge out of the snow this morning and I'm letting it melt inside the house, along with a measuring cup with the snow "overflow." I'm attempting to measure the precipitation for the last 8 days of January at home. Yes, I am a Weather Nerd, too.
