Here’s a 40 year old gripe. Alicia Masters looks so much like Sue Storm that in her first appearance the Puppet Master had Alicia impersonate Sue well enough to trick her boyfriend and brother for 4 pages. Which makes Byrne hooking her up with Johnny kinda gross.

I strived for years to be taken seriously as a Convincingnessist artist but I could never get anyone to believe in my work. Philosophically I’m more of a Neoconvincingnessist anyway. 🤷♂️
In the Official Marvel Try-Out Book, Jim Shooter said Marvel Comics (and I would say a lot of comics, sci-fi, and fantasy art in general) are not trying for realism so much as CONVINCINGNESS. I think about this term and what it means a lot.

The Judge Dredd reggae connection. Pat Mills got the name from English reggae artist Judge Dread. Dread took his name from a 1967 Prince Buster song. So, that Dread at least partly refers to Dreadlocks, however, the dread of locks refers to dread the feeling too, so- youtu.be/RZXpwE2OupM?...

The thing that gets me about Crisis is, Issue 1 was my first proper DC purchase. The series did a fantastic job of teaching me about the multiverse they thought was too confusing for new readers. And the restructuring it was intended for was a giant mess they are still trying to fix.
