As we approach the inauguration date, this line from James Blake is haunting me:

“Doesn’t it feel like the end?
Something’s coming for us
And maybe we’re not prepared
That this might only be day one”

- Like the End
LMAO This is like Trump and Tom Brady in 2002

Mavs/Pelicans game had no business being that entertaining, involving two of the most sorry teams in the NBA. I’m all in on Queen

That was a proof-of-concept game for the Rockets. KD did exactly what they brought him in to do.

Wemby just chased Steph around the court , through screens, and forced a bad shot by Draymond. Lmao, how’s this possible!?

Stephon Castle starting to look like prime Westbrook. Just cooking Curry right now.

The Mavs can now sell off assets (PJ and Gafford have real value, Marshall a bit, AD and Kyrie who knows) to get their picks back for the next three years, and build around Cooper and the ‘26 pick). Some good news finally for the fans

Just loving the new Mavis Staples record, which speaks so perfectly to the moment, with the requisite gravitas and knowledge that comes from her history. Also, the best rendition of Cohen’s “Anthem” ever; I got goose bumps when she growls “you’re gonna hear from me”

The Westin St. Francis in San Francisco got rid of the lobby space they used for the big Christmas tree and decorations that folks in and out of town brought their kids to see during the season (they built a bar instead). A symbolic and sad end to Union Sq as a destination/public space.

Yes, but it’s also seeing a Mike Greenwell jersey 2,000 miles away from Boston and giving the person a silent nod

First, Derek is a national treasure, and his historical knowledge continues to astound. Second, one of my favorite US history lessons is about the Break & Roses strike in Lawrence. A tidbit that got my attention was that the workers there spoke 27 different languages.
JD Vance claims that diversity weakens unions, as people end up distrusting each other and not organizing.

Let me tell you two menswear stories related to this claim. 🧵

It’s been so long since the Blue Jays won the World Series that the last time it happened the President was born in 1946 and had ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Just heard the crowd at the Raptors game sing “OK Blue Jays” and it’s ridiculously wholesome. #BeatLA

This game has ALL the makings. Vlad’s run was so fun and then Ohtani

Scherzer doesn’t have much left, but is putting it all into each pitch. Gotta respect him

OMG what even was that from Wemby?😱

This really captures where my head is at

Dylan Harper is an elite finisher at the rim. The Wemby-Harper pick’n’roll is gonna be a problem for the league for the next decade
October 26, 2025 at 8:34 PM
Goddam Wemby. This is getting stupid. The Spurs are a 50 win team
October 26, 2025 at 7:26 PM
What a start to the NBA season. The West matchups are going to be awesome every night.

“To what end?” Is the question the media and the pundits simply cannot bring themselves to ask
"Win" what, in order to accomplish what, for whom.
October 23, 2025 at 2:58 PM
Lmao Dallas has nobody who can dribble, and it’s a clown show at this point
October 23, 2025 at 3:32 AM
Day 1 of new NBA TV contract and local Warriors fans are getting hosed bc the game is on Peacock. This sucks NBC. You need a plan for when the first game goes OT

Great thread
The thing that makes Star Trek utopian isn’t the end of scarcity or the harmony between all peoples it’s also that the guy on the ship who gets laid the most plays the trombone at work and periodically does community theater

It’s also really great because they have the most amazing technology anyone could ever ask for in the holodeck, they use it, but then they’ll also show up for their robot’s cat poetry night because they realize it’s important to be present with those you love and that technology isn’t a substitute
