Books, classical music, prone to hyperbole. Just moved back to Minneapolis after 22 years in DC and I’m loving it. Someone assumed I was straight, so here’s this:🏳️‍🌈.

The narration is kind of ridiculous, but this gold.

Hold on, let me check my bag of Trollopiana. (Seemed worth five bucks.)

As if Trollope’s books weren’t big enough. And then the audacity to choose three? Who has those kind of balls? (I don’t think I’ve ever come across An Eye for an Eye before. Still, not enough to buy this weird omnibus.)

Doesn’t everyone hop in their car during a snowstorm to go used book shopping?

Whether you like bookshelves, home renovation stories, or both, this post is for you.

Getting moody about my library
Since I moved back to Minneapolis in August 2024 my books have been smooshed into a den in the condo I’m renting. I was lucky to find a rental that had that much book storage, not sure what I…

Over 20+ years, in various parts of the country, I don’t think I have ever had a good customer service experience at Williams-Sonoma. Fucking hate that place.

My friend/travel partner who is going with me to Patagonia asked me to supply reading material for our trip. Find out why I chose what I chose.

@tmhwrd.bsky.social Read your review of OTB with interest. I'm a big Shute fan, but think he's an acquired taste so I understand most of your criticisms. I relish his fetish for engineering details and his virtuous 2D characters plugging away even in the face of Armageddon.

@slywit.bsky.social Bezos shoots a rocket into space w/his billions, I fantasize about the production company I would start with his money. Nothing but literary adaptations. I’m a process guy so I go through the steps I’d take to get it off the ground. I always include you as one of my early hires.

Oh FFS. I made the mistake of pressing play on the grand finale of Downton. The scene at the ball where x is discovered is so stupidly written and directed. It encapsulates everything that is wrong with the whole damn series. Not an iota of historical accuracy.

The third Knives Out is not off to a good start. There is no way anyone would think this church was in the US.

I liked the first Knives Out, the second one was boring and too aware of itself. But wonder how I will like the third?

This is awful, but did they really paint the Kennedy Center columns white?! There’s no way they had approval to do that.
(2/2) President Kennedy proudly stood for justice, peace, equality, dignity, diversity, and compassion for those who suffer. President Trump stands in opposition to these values, and his name should not be placed alongside President Kennedy's.
