I didn't really take to it on recording, but when I first heard it live in '91 by amateur forces at the U of MN, I was blown away by it. Powerful on every level.

Agreed, it is glorious and not programmed enough. In addition to the SLSO performance this season, Cleveland is doing it in April. Looking back at my post-Covid dbase, New World (FL) and Columbus did it last season, SF did it in the 22/23 season and Boston in 21/22. (I heard MN do it in about 98.)
