Books, classical music, prone to hyperbole. Just moved back to Minneapolis after 22 years in DC and I’m loving it. Someone assumed I was straight, so here’s this:🏳️‍🌈.

Now that I'm doing a renovation which will increase my bookshelf capacity by 150%, I'm struggling to get rid of books I DNF.

Not a very spooky Halloween, but a great @minnesotaorchestra.org program ahead with BOULANGER, SAINT-SAËNS, WEILL, and RAVEL.

It's spelled Mountbatten Windsor but it's pronounced Throatwobbler Mangrove.

Not that I have anything against Sybil Fawlty, but I think not enough people are giving Elizabeth Mapp her due. (Not to mention Aunt Juley in Howards End.)

When I get my BLT and Grilled Cheese for breakfast at Ben’s Chili Bowl at DCA, I never know which to eat first.

I like that people ask me about my Minnesota Orchestra hoodie every time I wear it, but they always think I’m in the orchestra. I’m going to go ask that guy at my gate in the Vikings shirt what position he plays.

For those who loved Geoffrey Household’s Rogue Male, you should check out A Rough Shoot. Had me up way too late on a school night.

Remember when I flew to Berlin just to see Nixon in China but the production was so horrifically bad I left half way through?

Well, I'm going to try again, this time with Fleming and Hampson at the Paris Opera. Fingers crossed everyone, fingers crossed.

And then I thought, is there a way I can add more gray?

I still can't believe that these two programs are happening on the same weekend. Thank God Louisville is doing a morning concert, makes it easier to get to Salt Lake City in time. Don't know how Mozart snuck into all this Americana. I've got my tickets, now just need to book my flights.

It's nice to have classical music events sell out, but it should happen after I've secured my own ticket. I'd really like to see this Danish String Quartet concert. I wonder if there will be scalpers.

Looking forward to the @minnesotaorchestra.org program tonight. Especially the Joan Tower.

I found something worse than a long dream sequence in a novel, nine pages describing a rubber of bridge in an otherwise delightful book.

The nurse who put in my IV line this morning was very complimentary.

You know you live in NE Minneapolis when your neighbors have a Ukrainian tryzub on their front porch.

Nice to be back in the Hall. And with Joyce DiDonato singing Berlioz. #MinnesotaOrchestra
